Only 10 minutes' drive from the TUI BLUE PULSE Schladming, this is a major highlight for anyone who wouldn't give up the chance to go flying down a mountain, even in the summer. The starting point for this ultimate fun on three-wheeled go-karts is the valley station of the Hochwurzen cable car in Rohrmoos. Here, the adventure starts with a comfortable ascent to the summit in a 10-seater gondola. Up at 1,900 metres above sea level, you can take in the best views of the Enntal and the Dachstein massif. And before you go, you should duck into the Hochwurzenhütte for some homemade delicacies.
After a brief introduction by a certified Mountain GoKart guide, you're almost ready to go. Safety first - please don't forget your helmet, which is available for you at the start. Sturdy shoes, a pair of sunglasses, and possibly your own bike helmet could prove advantageous.
Once the group is set, the guide will give the go-ahead and the adventure begins. Fortunately, wide tyres and solid disc brakes make you feel more secure. The front wheels, equipped with shock absorbers, maintain good contact with the ground, even at high speeds. The comfortable, ergonomic seat makes it possible to focus on your thrilling drive the whole way down. This spectacular descent, which is used as a toboggan run during the winter, is over 7 kilometres long and ends back at the valley station of Hochwurzen.
Our tip: Combo tickets for both the ride up and down the mountain can be found locally in the sports shop Ski Lenz. An ascent per day is included for all Summer Card holders, so you would only have to pay the Gokart rental fee (€14 per adult).
This is definitely a memorable holiday experience for both young and old, and is even feasible in a light drizzle. Have fun trying it out for yourself!
Tip: You can also borrow one of the E-bikes or ROSE mountain bikes at the hotel for going either direction.
