First, the facts for this winter fun on a sledge: 7 km length, 730 m difference in altitude, start at 1,860 m. The Hochwurzen toboggan run is one of the longest in the Alps. Whether for families, night owls, or a romantic night out, you can take in both the gorgeous nature and that rustic lodge atmosphere!
Before going up to the summit from the Hochwurzen valley station in the new 10-passenger lifts, you can hire the right toboggan for you (one or two-seater) starting at €7 in Ski Lenz or the Tauernalm. Groups of 10 or more people should reserve their toboggans in advance. Once at the top, go.
Of course, you shouldn't miss the famous refreshments on the way down. There are several huts distributed along the toboggan run from start to finish, which offer enough space for larger groups. You'll have enough time for socializing, because the last descent from the mountain is at 22:30; the toboggan run is lit until 23:00.
For tobogganing at night, either a single ride ticket or an evening card is necessary. Children, young people, and guests with a valid ski pass for Planai & Hochwurzen will receive a discount. The toboggan run can also be used during the day.
Our tip for the right equipment:
